Holiday of A Life Time (H.O.A.L.T.)

A focus of fund raising for the R.A.O.B. Grand Lodge of Cyprus, inherited from the GLE Cyprus P.G.L. and Lodges after many years of sterling work, fundraising, promoting, organising holidays and making the H.O.A.L.T. a Worldwide brand within the Order.

The H.O.A.L.T Website will provide you with more details of what we attempt to achieve and how you can become, more involved. In brief, we raise funds and then organise holidays for underprivilege children from the UK to Cyprus for a week/10 days/2 weeks depending on the beneficiary organisers choice. We pay for all pre-holiday requirements such as passports and then flights and Hotel accommodation. The actual holiday activities are almost exclusively organised by the H.O.A.L.T. Committee and have included, Black Pearl Pirate Ship cruise with food and entertainment, Camel Park with rides, breakfast, lunch, Water world Ayios Napa, sightseeing and beach trips. We have also introduced them to cultural activities and sports such as scuba-diving and swimming. We are usually helped by generous support and sponsorship from local businesses who offer their facilities, discounted but in most cases free of charge.

Fundraising has many sources with the backbone being voluntary contributions from our members in Lodges and they, run small fund raising activities. The Committee organise two formal dinners each year, Summer in a Beach-front Hotel, with great food and entertainment. Winter sees the Committee organising a more formal ‘Dress Ball’ again with good food and entertainment but on a more formal basis. A good amount of funds raised from these two major events.
