Bro Ray Hill ROH

This year sees one of our longest serving members occupying this office. Bro Ray has just served 40 years in the order and is rewarded by becoming an Honorary Member. He first affiliated to James Mercury Lodge when he joined us here in Cyprus. He plays a very active role within the movement and also heads our infrastructure Committee.

Bro Nof Pashalis KOM

A brother who has achieved more in the 10 years in his Buffalo career than many do in a life time. Enthusiastic and passionate, Bro Nof was initiated into the James Mercury Lodge in 2014. This year not only has he had great results for his chosen charity ‘MOVEMBER’ his progressive & innovative character witnessed him carry out the first initiation carried out over the internet to the Philippines. He was also president of Examining Council.

Deputy Grand Primo

Bro Stephen Leek ROH

An intelligent and worldly brother he saw and experienced many different cultures as he is a trained chef and worked in 5* hotels around the globe before settling in Cyprus in 1985. Joining the Buffs in 1996. He moved quickly through the degrees and in 2008 became a ROH member. He is starting this year with a committed excitement anticipating that next year he will achieve his goal and occupy the top job.

Grand Secretary

Bro Gary Davis ROH

There is no doubt that this very able and competent brother is the most suitable person to hold this the most important office and roll  within the GLC. He has held this position since the formation of the Grand Lodge of Cyprus 5 years ago. Gradually taking on more and more work in order to ease the workload of the minor lodge secretaries, we are lucky to have a person with a background such as his enabling him to deal documentation and financial matters.  His selfless dedication to the GLC and the order has ensured the smooth growth and development of this banner.

Assistant Grand Secretary & Waiter

Bro Howard Passes KOM

This important position/office has remained unfilled since the formation of the GLC. It was deemed necessary to fill this job due to the potential expansion of the operations of this banner, creating additional work for the Grand Secretary. Bro Howard’s past workload and experience within the order made him the ideal candidate for this job. Since he joined the order in 2017 he has been a permanent lodge secretary and served on GLMC among other jobs. When asked this wise old brother accepted without hesitation.

Bro Paul Harper KOM

Bro Paul left South Africa thinking that as a trained and qualified chef and also a radio announcer his life could be pretty much well mapped out. He arrived in Cyprus shortly before he joined James Mercury Lodge in 2019 feeling rather despondent at finding a job, harder than he thought. Through making friends  and talking to the buffs suddenly the door opened. Jobs appeared. Paul is our electronics and radio expert. He single handedly set up our internet and conference service and now working on something called PODCASTS. He is intelligent and can add up which qualifies him for this slot as a Grand Lodge Officer.

Bro Ross Thomson KOM

Is a man with a dynamic personality and one of those people who always wants to be doing something. His abilities seem to be endless, taking on any task with enthusiasm.  Brother Ross was initiated into our Dhekelia Garrison lodge in August 2013. Brother Ross has recently been put in charge of our catering team because of his ability to constantly produce any quantity to the highest of standards. He is also secretary of the HOLIDAY of a LIFE TIME committee.

Bro Dave Smith KOM

Whatever the task or position he is presented with Bro Dave is a man on a mission. He easily combines his fun-loving side with the dedication and energy that he possesses. He is proud that he was educated at the “University of Life” the finest education you can get. Originally from Morecombe in Lancashire he made his way south & set up home in Hastings. During 1978 he was initiated into PRIDE OF HASTINGS lodge, and after deciding to move even further south joining the newly formed Grand Lodge of Cyprus  in 2021 by affiliating to our James Mercury Lodge  in 2021.

Bro Steve Gannon ROH

Hard working and a dedicated member of this fraternity who welcomes each and every task offered to him with open arms. He grew up in a family with several of his uncles being BUFFS so he has never been a stranger to the order. He joined in 1977 after joining the RAF. He has also served as a police Officer and was in the army. In 2014 he served as a Provincial Grand Primo.

Bro Chris Caddick CP

The first of two fairly new brothers to join the ranks of Grand Lodge officers. Bro Chris only joined the order and this the GLC back in February 2024. He very quickly developed a very keen interest in the workings of the Lodge. He was born in Munster in Germany in 1977. He came to live in Cyprus in 2021 and by profession is a qualified IT Support Engineer. A family man, he has a daughter at university in the UK and 3 other children who also live in the UK with their mum. He is a brother with a great personality who loves responsibility, so much so just 4 months ago he took on the role of Lodge secretary, that’s what I call dedication.

Bro Joshua Harris CP

The second of our new recruits to become a Grand Lodge officer.  Born in the south coast town of Brighton in 1987. Moved to Cyprus in 1993 where he completed his education and left college as a trained mechanic. He found that property maintenance suited him better so he set up on his own to follow his chosen path. Initiated into the Dhekelia Garrison Lodge in June 2023 he immediately found great satisfaction in being a member of the Order. His enthusiasm and quick wit has ensured a very bright  Buffalo future.
