Immediate Past Grand Primo
Bro Ray Hill ROH
After a successful, and enjoyable year our ever happy and jovial Ray Hill is now Immediate Past Grand Primo making way for his successor.
For his appeal during his year as Grand Primo he chose a charity named SPAVO which cares for victims of domestic violence. Due to his hard work and aggressive campaigning, he raised just under 10,000 euros in 12 months
Having been in the order for over 40 years, he was granted honorary membership to the James Mercury Lodge. Originally initiated in the Albert Lodge in 1984 we asked what was the most enjoyable part of his Buffalo career he replied “even after all this time of being in the Buffs the brethren think I am still capable of holding such a high office, they voted me in with an overwhelming majority, and of course, the prestige and pride of actually holding the office. Thats the High point.
Grand Primo
Bro Stephen Leek
Brother Stephen Leek is a worldly and intelligent man learning from his extensive travels around the globe whilst training as a chef in many 5* hotels. In 1985 he came to Cyprus where he met his wife.
He has been a Buff for 30 years joining the order on February 1st 1996. Being eager to learn as much as he could about the Buffs he progressed quickly through the degrees, becoming a ROH member in 2008. He is excited and proud that he has reached his goal and occupies this high office for the next 12 months.
His chosen charity for the next year is “Assistance Dogs Cyprus’ These dogs are so highly trained they perform tasks much more complicated than the guide dogs we know and admire. These dogs save lives.
We wish you good luck for this your year in office.
Deputy Grand Primo
Bro Ross Thomson
This is a year to remember for Bro Ross a brother with a determination to reach his goal. That goal is to be one of the youngest, if not the youngest Grand Primo certainly within the last 50 years.
This year he began by being exalted to the 4th degree becoming a ROH member at the young age of 40. Since being initiated into the Dhekelia Garrison Lodge in 2013 he has risen quickly through the degrees taking on any task or job he could carrying it out with a determined enthusiasm.
From 2018, before the establishment of GLC he was the Dhekelia Garrison delegate to the Cyprus PGL. In 2021 he became a Grand lodge officer, then in 2022 he was also President Knights Chapter together with membership of GLMC
And now in 2026 Not only is he Deputy Grand Primo but Also Vice Pres ROH Assembly, Vice Chairman H.O.A.L.T Committee, member of GLMC and a trustee of the Dhekelia Garrison Lodge.
Grand Secretary
Bro Gary Davis ROH
There is no doubt in the minds of all the members of GLC that this brother is the most suitable person to hold this position. His past occupation in the banking industry has honed his organisational and planning skills to perfection. His calm and determined manner instills confidence in all who meet him.
He joined the James Mercury lodge in April 2012 and rose swiftly through all the degrees picking up several reward medals such as MAN OF WORTH and SERVICES RENDERED along the way. It is without question we are lucky to have this brother with us.

Bro Steve Gannon ROH
A very reliable member of this banner. In 1977 he joined the RAF and because many members of his family, including his father
And several of his uncles had been Buffs in that same year he joined the RAOB, before that he had been a police officer.
In 2014 he reached the highest office possible for any member of a minor Lodge. That position was a Provincial Grand Primo. Bro Steven Gannon now sits on the Grand Lodge of Cyprus and is happy to accept any position offered to him.

Bro Paul Harper Kom
Brother Paul arrived in Cyprus shortly before he joined the James Mercury Lodge No: 8599 in 2019. When he arrived here, he was equipped with the knowledge that he was a qualified and experienced chef and because of his well-trained voice, he had been a radio announcer and broadcaster.
Jobs were harder to get than he had hoped, there was very little if any that suited, he became despondent but after joining the Buffs he gained a new lease of life and an increase in self-confidence. Suddenly he started talking and jobs began to appear. He is now a major stake holder in the Big Red Bus Tour Company.
Due to his connection with radio he became expert in electrics connected with sound. He set-up our internet and conference facility single handedly. He is now producing Podcasts.
Being good with figures that is why he is a good treasurer. This year he is also Vice President of Knight’s Chapter.
Alderman of Benevolence
Bro Joshua Harris CP
Now in his second year as a Grand Lodge Officer brother Josh has learned a lot about the Buffs. Having the responsibility of running the fountain is I am sure the first of many to come as he is doing a good job.
Born in Brighton he came to Cyprus in 1993, completed his education, and then trained as a mechanic. He wasn’t happy with that so he set himself up in a business doing property maintenance.
He joined the Buffs in 2023 and was raised to Certified Primo the following year. He has a good sense of humour. And he is always full of ideas. Last year to raise money for charity his idea was that a number of brethren would cut their hair MOHICAN style for charity. It worked – well done he raised 1000 Euros. He also received a SERVICES RENDERED JEWEL.
Alderman of Juniper
Bro Mick Wagstaff CP
A new member to the lineup of Grand Lodge officers Bro Mick Wagstaff who joined our Dhekelia Garrison Lodge in 2023 has shown his keen interest in the workings of the order. He was raised the following year in 2024. Now a C.P. he enjoys every minute when he is appointed Worthy Primo and is now looking forward to the next stage of his buffalo career
Like many people Mick was not a keen student. In fact, he found the best thing school had to offer were the dinners.
When he did leave school he went to technical college where he qualified as an Electrician. Born in 1961 Bro Mick has shown he can turn his hand to many different tasks and demonstrated he has a good future in the Order.

Bro Colin Young ROH
Bro Colin still lives in the UK, in Wales to be precise. He has been an affiliated member of our Dhekelia Garrison Lodge for about four years and travels to be with us several times a year especially for our Grand lodge meetings. Bro Colin is certainly an experienced elder statesman of the order. Born in 1947 he was initiated into the SIEGE OF TOBRUK LODGE in 1969. He has been a GLE Grand Officer and represents us in the UK also he spearheads our famous Holiday of a Life Time venture.
Grand Constable
Bro Chris Caddick CP
Born in Munster, Germany, he came to Cyprus in 2021. By profession he is a computer IT engineer. His family of four children, one of which is at university, live in the UK with their mother.
Becoming a member of the Dhekelia Garrison Lodge in February 2024 Bro Chris began his meteoric rise to a position of great responsibility before the beginning of 2025 by taking over the role as City secretary of his Lodge.
Chris has become very proficient at his duties and has an excellent buffalo future ahead.
Grand Waiter
Bro Dave Baker CP
Born in a small village called Clapham, north east of Bedford. He went to Hastingsbury Upper School which he left at the age of 15 to undertake a six year printing apprenticeship which qualified him as a Graphic Designer.
He also was a very good footballer, playing for Luton, Hitchen and Bedford towns amongst others.
After being with Sarah for 14 years he decided to make an honest woman of her, and married her in 2016 They came to Cyprus 2021 and he joined the Buffs two years later. Brother Dave is always eager to do whatever is required. Eager to advance his Buffalo career he has become a Grand Lodge Officer.

Bro Stewart Read ROH
In 2007 Bro Stewart joined the Buffs. From the outset his enthusiasm and interest in all aspects of buffaloism shone through as he did whatever he could for the Cyprus PGL. becoming its deputy leader in 2019.
With the formation of Grand Lodge of Cyprus he grasped the opportunity to make his mark. In 2022 he was made Grand Primo GLC and President of Knights Chapter. Well deserved positions for this energetic and hard working Brother.

Bro Dave who was initiated into the Pride of Hastings Lodge in 1978 – joined us in 2021. To describe him is quite easy ‘he is like a man on a mission’, what ever anybody wants it has to be don immediately and quickly.
Perhaps the thing he is most proud of is his education. He has great pleasure in saying “I was educated at the University of Life”
He has served as a member of Grand Lodge for the last 4 years taking a different collar on each occasion In 2023 he was awarded the MAN OF WORTH Jewel.

Bro Howard Passes KOM
Shortly after joining the Order in Feb 2016, Bro Howard expressed his wish to take an active role in the activities of the Lodges. It was not long before the City Secretary of the James Mercury Lodge wanted to retire. Bro Howard took the position. This led to him being appointed Assistant Sec to the Dhekelia Garrison lodge at the same time.
In 2022 he was appointed a GLC Auditor whilst being a Grand Lodge Officer. After 2 years in 2024 he was awarded the MAN OF WORTH Jewel then in 2025 he was made President of KOM Chapter and Assistant GLC Secretary.
He is also Secretary of the H.O.A.L.T Committee.
